Summer Institute on Holistic Health & Healing, A joint partnership Woodwinds Health Care Center and UM Center for Spirituality & Healing, June 23-27, 2008
The program is designed to prepare nurses and other healthcare providers to teach and provide integrative/holistic health and healing to patients and families in a variety of clinical and community settings. Participants will acquire the knowledge and skills to provide leadership in environments that promote optimal healing, based at the Woodwinds Health Campus (www.woodwinds.org), an extraordinary healthcare facility in Minnesota that is a model optimal healing environment.

AHA (American Hospital Association) Conference on Leadership & Business Strategies for Integrative Healthcare - May 15-17, 2008 Phoenix, AZ
I attended the Leadership and Business Strategies for Integrative Health Care conference that addressed the issues in developing and sustaining a successful integrative medicine program. Health care leaders from across the country including Minnesota shared their stories and offered practical strategies and techniques on building complementary therapies within a large healthcare system or community.

International Humanitarian Surgical Team February - March 2008 - Guatemala
Our medical team spent 10 days in Guatemala with a week at the Caroll Berghorst Clinic in Chimalteneng, during the first week Team 1 preformed about 47 surgeries on both children and adults. During the trip I was in charge of the WARD for all post surgical patients and family members, my great joy was in providing traditional as well as complementary healing touch to almost 100% of the patients. . IHST has been performing surgical procedures in Guatemala for 15 years.
